ACE Market-listed Asia Media Group Bhd plans to roll out the digital live transit-TV broadcasting infrastructure in the Klang Valley by as early as 1H11, said CEO Datuk Ricky Wong.

At the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) progress update last Tuesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced that Asia Media would invest RM500 million in the next 10 years to expand its existing network of mobile broadcasting on public transportation and set up infrastructure to enable the company to broadcast live TV programmes through the broadcasting sets.

Asia Media will leverage on its extensive transit-TV network, extending over 3,000 transit-TVs with public transport providers Rapid KL, Causeway Links and Konsortium Transnational Group to extend its transit-TV network onto the Light Rail Transit (LRT), Monorail and eventually the Mass Rail Transit (MRT) systems.

Asia Media which was listed on Bursa Malaysia on Jan 11 describes itself on its website as a media provider, offering high-quality infotainment and targeted advertising using digital electronic displays installed in various outdoor premises.
